Anyone but Him

#withtheband book 1

Troy De Beauvoir was supposed to have it all this year: Head Boy, Soccer Captain and Music Captain. But when the arrogant Will Gray saunters in and swipes the Music Captaincy from him, he can't decide what's upset him more: the fact that there just might be a better musician than him walking the same halls, or the fact that Will is exactly his type. He's determined to keep himself well away from Will Gray, but it's not easy when they have every lesson together.

Will is facing a difficult final year of high school. For starters, he's moved not only schools, but crossed a state border to do so. On top of that, he's terrified he'll somehow be outed at his new school, and that it will derail his entire year, just like last year. But that's nothing compared to the devastatingly handsome, arrogant prick who's been assigned to be his 'buddy' at school. Will can't work out what he's done to piss him off. And it would be fine, really, except their music teacher keeps making them work together.

Sparks fly when the two boys are thrust together for a performance, forcing them to admit they actually get on really well. Their friendship deepens, and so does their mutual attraction. But Troy and Will both have their reasons for trying to pretend they're just friends.

Anyone but Him is a heart-warming, queer high-school romance where clashing personalities grudgingly give way to friendship, with a generous dash of sexual tension.

Music is never simple. Especially with feelings involved.
