Nick’s been on plenty of dates but his only relationship ended in flames just in time to screw up his Year 12 exam revision. Now he’s facing his first year of Uni in a course he’s not sure is right and trying to keep the band on track to record an album. It’s a lot. So when Clara taunts him about his poor dating skills, it’s only natural that he pressures her into a bet to prove her wrong. Of course the only way to do that is to take her on a date. It should feel wrong; Clara is Nick’s best mate’s sister and they’ve known each other since they were 5. So why does it feel so natural? And since when did he want to kiss her?
Clara’s about to start Uni and is determined to have her first kiss before she turns 18. After a string of failed first dates that make her brother Sean and his best mate Nick absolutely crow about it, she somehow finds herself agreeing to go on a fake date with Nick to prove that he wouldn’t do any better. The problem is, Nick’s always been top of the list she won’t admit she’s made of guys who’d make good boyfriends. And the other problem is, Nick is bloody fantastic at dates.
When Nick also asks Clara to be his fake date to his cousin’s wedding, the boundaries begin to blur. But when you’ve known someone your whole life it’s hard to take the risk and tell them you’d like to date them for real.
